OUR PROCESS
Most likely you’ve never worked with a professional designer or design consultant before, so read on to learn a little more about how the process works and what you can expect when you begin a Design 300
Pre-Planning - Before we start, you need to do a little homework to help make the project a pleasant experience. Be honest with yourself and trust your instincts. Here are some things to think about:
Know your Budget – Everyone has a budget and it is important to be honest about what you are willing to spend to complete your vision and fulfill your needs. We can help you compete almost any project within your budget. We can even help you prepare your budget. Let us know how we can help.
Set Priorities – Which rooms are the most important to design? If your budget doesn’t allow you to complete the project all at one time, consider working in stages. Do the rooms you live in first.
Lifestyle – Ask yourself how you live. Determine some lifestyle likes and dislikes. Are you a perfectionist? Do you have kids? Do you entertain? Answer all of the questions in the “Design 300 Q and A” below, which will help us create a focused plan for your home.
Clip Inspiration Photos – Look through magazines and the internet for photos and inspiration. We will provide some resources for you as well. Photos are a great way to communicate visually with your consultant, so make notes and clip away! Too many choices and you like everything? Clip out things you DON’T like. This can be a powerful starting point. Make sure you share your desires with your consultant.

Initial Meeting
This is usually a phone call where we will go over your Design 300 Questionnaire and we will spend time getting to know you, educating you to the process and telling you who we are and what we do. This is where we will first discuss budget, your likes and dislikes and expectations. Next, we’ll set an appointment for your Design 300 In-Home Consultation.
Design 300 In-Home Consultation - This is YOUR time! You are in charge of how and what we accomplish with your time. Because of the work you have done before hand, we will be ready to start providing results and creating your vision. We feel it is best to meet with you in your home so we can see, first hand, your colors, furnishings and floor plan. We allow one to two hours for the In-Home Consultation. We’ll review your existing furnishings, current color schemes, floor plan and home style and discuss your priorities, tastes and options. Finally, we can begin to determine your personal style.
Your Personal Design 300 Plan - We’ll take all we’ve learned in the first consultation and develop a plan, an estimated timeline and a preliminary budget.
Project Management - Once we all agree on the scope of work, budget and timeline, you will sign a simple design agreement which outlines all that we’ve discussed. Next, we’ll begin to implement the project. We will start with the chosen priority room, create a furniture layout, develop a color scheme, specify your fabric and paint selections and help with the purchase of furnishings and accessories. Whether you simply want us to provide you with suggestions for furnishings, accessories and room layout, or you want us to manage the process from start to finish and everything in between, we will be ready to assist in your interior design endeavor!
